The coaching staff is truly looking forward to another great year of freshman football. The season will begin in August and will end with a playoff game in November. During this time, players will learn proper technique, discipline, teamwork, and last of all, a completely new offense.
The freshman football team plays in one of the toughest conferences in the state. The Rockets are in the East division, which has eight teams, as does the West. All conference games are played on Thursday nights, with the exception of weeks when the varsity plays on Thursday. In those circumstances, games are moved to Tuesday nights.
In the past few years, there has been a dramatic increase in the number of students participating in freshman football. This increase can be attributed to the fact that the Rocket football program in general has returned to its former status as a state football powerhouse. All students are invited to play, as there is absolutely no experience necessary.
