Fred Baker joined the Catholic High faculty in June of 2016. Prior to that, Mr. Baker worked in the Office of Admission at Hendrix College for 16 years. From 2012 to 2016, Fred served as the Associate Vice President for Enrollment and Director of Admission for Hendrix.
Over the course of his career in higher education, Mr. Baker has served a three year term on the Southern Association for College Admission Counseling’s Board of Directors. As part of that Board term, he represented the nine member states of SACAC as a voting delegate in the National Association for College Admission Counseling. Mr. Baker has also served a four year term on the Board of Directors for the Colleges that Change Lives non-profit. Fred currently serves as a member of the Governance and Nominating Committee in SACAC. He is a long-time member of SACAC and NACAC, a frequent presenter at annual higher education conferences, and has served as a faculty member at SACAC programs such as Dry Run for newly hired admission counselors and Summer Seminar for newly hired college counselors.
Mr. Baker serves as the academic and college guidance counselor, the AP coordinator, and will be teaching an American Civil War class in the 2020-2021 academic year.
